Wheel of doom!
If you are trying to log in and get the dreaded wheel of doom, it is likely that all you need to do is to clear your cache and hard refresh the page. The steps below will tell you how to do this, or you can simply open up the web page in an Incognito/private window as these don’t store cache:
How to hard refresh a web page:
Hitting the refresh button in your browser is not a hard refresh, it simply reloads the page with the current cache you have stored.
A hard refresh will first clear your browser cache for the page you are on which then forces it to load the most up-to-date version of that page.

Further Troubleshooting
If you’re still having trouble logging in, try out the steps below to see if any resolve the issue:
Clear Cache via Developer Tools
If you’re not able to log in, try clearing the cache via the developer tools, as this forces your browser to load a fresh version of the site and often fixes the issue.
On Windows (Google Chrome / Edge):
- Open your browser.
- Press F12 (or Cntrl + Shift + I) to open Developer Tools.
- Right-click the refresh button (⟳) next to the browser window address bar.
- Select Empty Cache and Hard Reload.
On Mac (Safari):
- Open Safari.
- If you don’t see a Develop menu in the top bar, enable it:
- Go to Safari → Settings (or Preferences) → Advanced → tick “Show Develop menu in menu bar.”
- Once enabled, click Develop in the top menu.
- Choose Empty Caches.
Clearing Cookie or Session Data
Regular browsing stores cookies that may conflict with how the site serves images, so they won’t load. To fix this, you can try clearing cookies for the platform page.
On Windows (Chrome / Edge):
- Open the browser.
- Press Cntrl + Shift + Delete.
- A “Clear browsing data” window will open.
- Choose the time range (e.g. Last hour, Last 24 hours, or All time).
- Tick Cookies and other site data (and uncheck anything you don’t want to delete).
- Click Clear data.
On Mac (Safari):
- Open Safari.
- In the top menu, click Safari → Settings (or Preferences on older versions).
- Go to the Privacy tab.
- Click Manage Website Data…
- Here you’ll see a list of all sites storing cookies and data.
- To clear everything: click Remove All.
- To clear only specific sites: select them in the list and click Remove.
Clearing Site Data
Websites often use local storage in addition to cookies. If it’s corrupted, it can prevent images from loading properly. Try clearing the site data from the developer tools or browser settings to see if it allows the images to fully load again.
On Windows (Chrome / Edge):
- Open Chrome (or Edge).
- Go to the site you want to clear.
- Click the padlock icon (🔒) next to the address bar.
- Select Site settings (or Cookies and site data in Edge).
- A new tab opens showing site permissions.
- Click Clear data → confirm.
On Mac (Safari):
- Open Safari.
- Go to Safari → Settings (or Preferences).
- Click the Privacy tab.
- Click Manage Website Data…
- In the list, find the specific site → select it → click Remove.
- Or choose Remove All to wipe everything.
Disable Browser Extensions
If you have an ad-blocker, privacy extension, or even a password manager script, then it might block certain content. If you disable the extensions one by one, you may be able to see if anything is blocking the images from fully loading.
On Windows (Chrome / Edge):
- Open Chrome (or Edge).
- Click the three dots (⋮ / …) in the top-right corner.
- Go to Extensions → Manage extensions.
- A page will list all installed extensions.
- Toggle the switch off next to any extension you want to disable (you can toggle it back on later).
On Mac (Safari):
- Open Safari.
- In the top menu, click Safari → Settings (or Preferences).
- Go to the Extensions tab.
- You’ll see all installed Safari extensions.
- Untick the box next to any extension to disable it (tick again to re-enable).
Use The Incognito/Private Window
If you’re still having trouble logging in, try using an Incognito/Private window – it gives you a fresh session without old cache or cookies getting in the way.
On Windows (Chrome / Edge):
- Open the browser.
- Press Cntrl + Shift + N → a new Incognito window opens.
On Safari (Mac):
- Open Safari.
- Press Cmd + Shift + N → a new Private Browsing window opens.
